Helpful Tips
You need protection! Go with top rated
companies. Call Missouri Health Dept. at 1-800-726-7390 to check ratings
and other information.
Be wary of "Discount Plans". They have value but are designed mostly for
the uninsurable. Discount plans are not insurance. If you
see or hear something that appears too good to be true, it is wise and
prudent to ask "Is this a discount plan?".
A company's Insurance Policies cost exactly the same, regardless from
whom you purchase the policy. Savings come from finding the plan and
company that best meets YOUR unique NEEDS.
Health Insurance policies vary widely. PLEASE COMPARE.
Know the policy's "Open" date. Some companies have waiting periods
of plan effective date and/or specific conditions.
Be sure to get a "Free look" clause, usually ten days. If not satisfied,
you should receive full refund, no questions asked.
Do no pay for un-needed coverage(s). Check the details of the plan.
Consider higher deductible. This may be cost effective.
Healthy, younger people may want to consider a Health Savings Account.
Many people do not understand them, but they are worth checking out.
Consider "Catastrophic" insurance only.
